2012 - JONKOPING APRIL DAY1

It did not seem that long since i was here back in November but traditionally the season starts here and also finished here with the Matchman of the year seeing the season out.
Warm weather to about 10 degrees was expected for the weekend with frosts at night . The early weeks reports suggested alot of roach had moved in to the lake ....lets see what happens ?

Beautiful Jonkoping !

Jocke Palmer of ITackle was the organiser to this prestige competition and he opened the proceedings with a speech to the attendees concerning the rules , the doo's and the dont's.

Bait supplied by Lasse

Sunglasses Fishing

Worm AB

Lasses and Metmask the ONLY company to deliver on the bank for casters and worms and great Bloodworm .....Maggots of all colours also with pinkies .

I drew peg C3 and we had relative calm water with the wind over our backs. The mornings setup was extremley tiring due to our mountaineer exercises on these large rocks as we strived to gain a good platform for our gear. The temperature was very warm in the sun and i was down to a T-shirt !

Start of the match and i was late to pre-bait as i was determined to set up another rig. I had 3 pole rigs all set up at about 3.5 - 5 metres. I had a feeder and a slider and as far as i could estimate it was upto 6 metres deep at about 35 metres out from the bank.

Peg C1 Tom Tai-chi Ostland .From the first minute of the match Tom was taking fish on the slider and noboby else caught for at least 20 minutes ! Evertime you looked around Tom's rod was bending ! Great angling for 12 kilos of fish.

C2 and Rikard with 4,7 kilos

My peg the C3

4,3 kilos for 5th in section    :(  ....my preparation was lousy !

Peg C4 was Fredricco Von Browningsson (formerley known as Andersson) with 2nd place 5,7 kilos

Paolo former champion in 2010 with 4th place 5,1 kilos

Roger with 43-4 kilos for 6th

D section was taken by Lasse Magnusson with just ove r5 kilos and the rest of the section not seeing many fish  :(

Kenneth on end peg D6 with 2 perch for 1 kilo
