2017 - River Soar (natural) on the Brinks on September 12th - MAS team practice

 Forgotten event by me but reminded as a Facebook memory appeared to save the day 

Julian Warrington - winner on the day with a skilful catch - Top angler and great friend

Mick 'Badoosh' Carr - Perch and Bream Wisperer - best mate in the world and known him since we were 11 years of age - Now Canal and River soar expert on his day - also a winner of a SVWL match ( i have never done that )

Clive Lloyd - Stick float master and massively experience on the Trent and Dove as well as the Soar - exceptional angler that can adapt to any form of fishing

Martin Jaques - Incredible angler on his day and caught one of the largest weights on the river Soar , i think he had over 50lb on a flooded Soar and came second !

Andy Porter - brought in from the incredible Greenhill AC - Great team man and learned quickly in the SVWL.

Mark Russel - fished for many teams in the SVWL and joined the MAS for a couple of seasons - lets say he is a lively character 

John Kilby another product of Youth anglers from GAC - learned well on river and canal - he needs to look after himself and control his weight , i wish him well.

Mr 'Bluntz' - Has been a regular on SVWL for many decades and joined us - only person i know who fished a match on the Trent at Branston (on Gold course) and lost where he had an accident in his car !! Thankfully Reynolds and Petch found it for him 😂😂😂

2026 - TROSA - SEPT 13TH

Last chance to fish this year at Trosa as the season ends the next day - we must protect those precious Trout !!!  Crazy decision taken considering many years ago we used to fish matches till Xmas and the specimen Pike anglers enjoyed great sport also - the logic to this , dont go there !!!

Lovely quiet morning with little or no wind and overcast - how will it go as i arrived at 07:00pm ?

Set up two pole rigs using GARBOLINO SPT 19 1.5gr to 16's hook HAYBUSA 122. Also a feeder rod MATRIX XF to MATRIX Braid and a MATRIX Softsteel 0.14 to HAYBUSA 157.

Considering its been  very dry summer the canal has fished well with little of no flow in the system. Its a shame the season ends so sudden as you have 3.5 months of NO !!! fishing .......but the ticket is worth it as come MARCH/APRIL there will be spectacular catches

2026 - Södertälje Kanal - September 12th

Mats sent me a message that he was down my local canal for some Slider practice 

He regretted renewing / checking his catapult elastic as he incurred one snap off - However he had one working and was hitting the mark ' Treble-Twenty' style.

To his left is a bathing area , new to this stretch of the canal , introduced start of the summer if you fancy swimming in 6m of water ! Hopefully its taken away for the winter as it takes two potential pegs out of the equation if a competition is arranged 

Björn and Carina Widerberg appeared , great to see them as not met for 3-4 years .

2026 - TROSA - September 6th

Weather really good so that window of opportunity arose to go Trosa considering the season closes on September 14th - all for the Trout !!! You can see from the picture how overgrown it is after having a very hot summer and it was also noticeable how low the water was

Two rods at the ready , one stick float and one waggler , a spare setup rod in the bag if needed 

A party yesterday and later the people came to tidy and clear it up

Sun now full on , time to apply the sun cream 

Yes , just 29 fish over 5 hours fishing , tough going but great to get out
