2023 - Christmas time for traditional Fir and Feather matches - a reflection of the past

Very special times back in the 70/80/90s with the GREENHILL AC at Christmas time when the traditional fishing FUR and FEATHER match took place. It did not matter the result as everyone would take prizes either through the position in the match or on a raffle draw .

Me with a Christmas Pudding  and a plastic cup full of sherry and consuming too many Mince Pies.

Mick Carr and Tony Potter

Another prize for me - a LAMBS NAVY RUM !

Start of the day as we gathered ready to look festive down at the Rothley river bank

Mostly committee posing for a Christmas photo after another successfully ran Fur and Feather match

Also liked the WIGSTON matches and their Fur and Feather is always a spectacular as the prizes given out were incredible and mostly won on a raffle draw . Top organiser is Adam Nurse (UK COLMIC manager) surrounded by anglers Joe Oakes , Pete Wootton .........prizes on table were many MAS float donated by myself besides all the wonderful bottles of wine , sherry and spirits not forgetting a tin of Quality street .

Another match was the Jim Burton and Pete Taylor 'Prostrate screening Christmas match '

Again i chipped in with more floats as prizes for the days competition
