It has been brought to my attention that there was a match in Soderhamn , possibly one of Sweden's best match venues where recently huge weights of fish were caught up to 84 kilos winner .........sadly a TRADITIONAL fishing match was performed .
To my readers this means NO Keepnets and all fish to be killed !!
Of course there is no catch-shots as pictures would be fish with heads broken back at 90 degrees .........this is so archaic form of fishing which in the majority of Europe is abhorrent . We all appreciate that when ice-fishing the fish have to be killed as impossible for retention nets for caught fish. But to kill fish , and so many on a day is truly ancient , dumb and does nothing for the image of fishing in Sweden .
To all my Swedish match man friends . i appeal to you all to put pressure on fishing clubs and organisations to stop this butchery on an industrial scale. The image of Swedish fishing is tarnished as clearly this form of angling should have no place in the modern fishing era . (We understand that ice-fishing cannot be the same but i would say that most fish caught on ice competitions had less weight and possibly mostly Perch which are considered a nuisance fish)
230 kilos of fish approx . were killed !!!
- What happened to them ?
- Tipped on the garden ?
- sold as dead bait ?
THIS IS A NATIONAL DISGRACE - WHERE ARE THE OPINIONS OF THE SWEDISH CONTROLLING BODY ??
