22nd October - Nykoping and a reconnoitre day with fellow angler Mats Larsson

In our quest to gain fishing arenas for this side of the country we have explored possibilities in other towns. It was only just recently that the Piren match had to be cancelled as it was thought the venue would not hold the fish that we know past history has provided . Therefore we looked at Nykoping and yesterday we did and we were pleasantly surprised ?

Further to this visit Mats Larsson had organised a Slider match in the Sodertalje canal which is a devastating long distance of 400 metres from my abode . Talking with Mats yesterday that Nykoping could provide a MATCHMAN OF THE YEAR as an alternative to the unfortunate cancellation of the match normally run by Christer and Kent . So , could we fit a match in before it gets too cold , watch this space !

I apologise for my swearing in this video but i get incensed at the lack of discipline in any society that does not take care of its environment - when will you see signs of LITTER 1000 SEK fine ? - You should have CCTV , that would stop them , ooooops just thought that is against peoples human rights .

Then to increasingly get me irate you see fishing line discarded - Education with anglers , non-existent . I do know that the four junior anglers nearby left this and there are bins in close proximity (10 metres) . Golden rule when leaving line is to cut it into pieces that way it cannot tangle around the wildlife - when will we learn ?

Comfortable peg and easy for shipping back the pole

Mats preparing his initial feed

Nice to see EXNER Butterfly flat floats

Mats and i having experimented with pole fishing decided to fish short eventually and we were rewarded with a constant stamp of good quality Roach , Ide , Bjorkna and Perch (on the corn) . Maggots i did not use as clearly the better stamp of fish wanted a bait that the Bleak did not care for . In the end i fished a metres deep in 4 metres of water - that shows you the layers of fish stacked up
