2013 July and fishing at the Greenhill AC Ashpole spinney

Decided to fish the 'Ashpole' near Cosby as it was only 5 minutes away from my B+B . Decided to go to John halls fishing tackle store which was only 15 minutes way. Got myself a few pints of maggots , worms and a few bags of pellets.

Wanted to fish a pellet waggler as there was quite a few carp cruising but will they take the bait in this 30 degrees hot weather ?

Had not opened the tube of pellet wagglers since Whiteacres in 2011 , what can i use ?

I was the furthest peg away from the car park at the back of the 2nd island.

This place has changed , they even have permanent residents here now , great lodges !

So much nature here now

What a view from the car park end

Gorgeous scenery and a pleasure to fish here.

There i sat and it was say the least tough with not a bite on the pellet except for 'tapping' Rudd

I persisted and decided to go Maggot ......it was all Rudd and Roach but it brought bites .

Later some of the committee attended the lake to oversee a stocking of a few hundred carp

With the pellet waggler line providing just silvers i decided to fish short for them and took a procession of Roach ,Rudd ,Perch ,Tench and odd Crucian.

Mum and Dad very proud of the child

Good talk with GAC stalwart ; Bill Hallett

A really pleasant day's fishing considering the 'heat'
