2021 - Norrkoping August 15th - a practice day as a prelude to the VM match the weekend after

I was so pleased to take part in a practice match on A section at Norrkoping with several others . It was just nice to meet up with many anglers i have fished with before . Jimmy Kungsman i fish with a lot but i have not seen Christer Engvall , Tom Ostland and Tommy Lindblom for many years . Besides fishing with Jimmy i also fished with Kent Adell in an earlier match at Nykoping .Nice to see Milojko for the first time also . Also there on the day was Gyula and Anssi , again i have no seen them for many a year however like them and the rest we have kept contact via Facebook . It was really enjoyable to talk with everyone , it was like i had never been away .

The day's weather of strong changeable winds did not help the fishing as most of us were worried when strong gusts hit the building behind then hit us from behind and our equipment started to more !!! Most of the anglers started by using the Slider as it has been a preferred method over the years and next weekend's VM match is a float only competition so Slider practice is essential . After an hour Kent and Christer were catching reasonably well on the slider however the fish were small but slightly larger than pole caught fish . It was in the last 2 hours of the match that whip and short pole caught well however when the weigh in came the weights were low compared to how the venue normally fishes .

Next weekend the VM is contested over the two days on this float only competition - i shall fish both days as an 'end-pegger ' so to not give any advantage to anglers so the match is fair for competing in. Great for me as it is taking some time to get back into the 'swing' of Swedish competition but i still enjoy the competing and mostly of all the socialising before , during and after the matches .
