Having missed the draw for todays match due to to some un for seen traffic problems i was advised by Les in the shop to fish the TOP POOL for some TBF F1 Stockie practice.
So i set up my gear on peg 29 with the wind on my back (makes a change as the last 2 matches i have had the wind in the face. The island point is 13.5 metres and i plummed up with a shelf upto 1 metre out from the island in 70cm of water dropping off to 85 cm of water.
Set up just 2 rigs ....new ones , both 4x10s with one straight thro on 0.12 line and 18s Colmic 501 with just 2 no 11 STOTZ down the line at about 20cm and 35 cm from the hook.
The other rig was for down the shelf with 0.12/0.10 bottom and a Preston 20's with 3 no 11 droppers
Behind me was the V roller and a flat roller....wow !...useful information !!

STRIKE!......its on ......Stockie F1
Only small this one
Getting a little bigger ......5-7 oz size
8oz size
Even the skimmers are joining in
Change to pellet after 20 minutes and the bigger stockie now shows.....12oz fish
Same again !......definately the pellet produces a better fish......okay less photographs and more angling ...
Later on about 2:00 pm the sun came out and warmed the shallower water closer to the island so i put in the shallow rig......
Found them ......bigger F1's from 1lb to 2.5 lb .......lost 2 animals also !!
Counted 52 stockies with at least 10 of them being 1-2.5 lb size also had 10 silvers.......nice for 4 hours fishing on a cold day....approx weight was 21-24 ish lb's
Cracking day !......back tomorrow and this time i will get there earlier.
