Well ! What a weekend for me ! Saturdays fishing i was battered both sides by Mats Larsson and Niklas Strengulsend so i had hope for a better Sunday , how wrong could i be ?
I drew Peg 2 and took a look and i thought i might need the platform but i could position my box only so i chose the former . So i emptied the rear of the car and took hold of the platform and started to make my way close to the water when i tripped and fell on my side and back after hitting my left knee into the fallen platform . I had tripped over a hidden metal stake that the locals use to moor their boats to.
Within seconds great friends Janne Stange , Per Nilsson and Klum family arrived to help me . Russ came down thinking i had an heart attack !! I asked them all to get me standing but straight the way things were not well around my left knee as after viewing i realised teh swelling was huge so only thought was to drive home quickly (i should have not done that ) ,
Anyway , i managed to drive home with great difficulty with my left foot permanently hovering over my clutch pedal and difficult to engage sometimes . Home it was and i called for ambulance as hospital is only 500m away . So i was inspected with X-RAY and CT scan and it was realised my knee bone had chipped off displacing my thigh muscle so it was required to be fused back with the tendon . That night at 09:45pm i was taken to surgery . Out of Operation room at 12:00pm and post-op room till 13:30pm then to my room for something to eat and drink and much needed sleep.
Now home with long healing process of up to 6-8 weeks. Unfortunately all my competitions are cancelled till August , this is sad for me as its my enjoyment with super angling friends. But i shall return.
