This match was due to be fished on the river at Arboga town centre but with the weed growth and bright sunny weather hampering good sport it was decided to go back onto the canal . The canal was going to be better as most anglers would enjoy good shade from the trees. π☂π²
As usual METMASK delivered the bait and the Toy shop is always open with many taking advantage of coming to a match after making an order through the MM website and then picking up so delivery was assured ππ
Pegs were drawn and we split into 2 sections . A new section was used at the bottom end of the track towards the main road . Parking was easy and soon pegs were easily cut into any bank side vegetation. Apart from a few early nuisance mozzies it was quite 'bite-free' π The 1st section was the last 5 pegs from the previous match as they provided good form.
Match started and for the first 20 minutes i failed to register a fish then Esa to my left started with a few then Jesper started to take many Rudd on the waggler and alternating with feeder to my right.
After about 2 hours Jesper had the first Tench and continued to fill his net with a steady stream of Rudd , skimmer roach odd perch . By this time i started to get a few see-though skimmers but no sign of Tench π
It got to the last 2 hours and Jesper took 4 more Tench on feeder and Esa carried on catching well on Skimmer and Roach . I was doing nothing as i had settled on going for Tench considering i have practiced here catching upwards of 7 Tench . But i failed in tactics and should have listened about the preferred tactic which waggler was producing well. My feeder brought me nothing of size so it was day over for me and i was truly obliterated either side of me .........back to the drawing board.
Esa peg 1 7600 and section 1 winner
Jesper with 12125 from peg 3 and the days match winner
