26/27th March - Arboga fishing and bank clearance

Saturday i drove from Sodertalje to Koping where Jamie resides and from there we drove to Arboga in his car to reconnoitre the match length at all the potential pegging and indulge in a spot of fishing. Due to the wind being rather bracing we opted to fish the other side to get out of the main gusts.

ARBOGA METMASK CUP - Sponsors are :

After a couple of hours fishing and clowning around (?) Michael had a play with my gear and caught a very nice Bjorkna .

English clowns :..... started by me losing my Top 2 , it sank several metres to my left and attempts by Michael and Esa to retrieve were not successful initially but Esa used a top 5 from Jamie to try to hook it blindly as the top had sunk . Eventually he did hook it after snagging his own rig to the bottom . Then the top appeared and he saved the day .........i owe you mate ! (Jamie's Flat float rig was trashed , sorry Bro , get you one of my rigs next time i am up there )

Then to cap it all Jamie then lost his keep net into the water and frantically Esa and Mikael jammed it between two landing nets and managed to hook it back up , just !

English Clowns !!

Back to Jamies abode in Koping - Mikael resting from his fishing action with a glass of Red , me too !

Jamie just tieing up the Union Jack

Sunday Morning and no wind (at the moment) , that did change later . Time for bank clearance so down to Section B where Russ , Jamies and mikael were extracting all the maintenance gear out of their vehicles.

Russ refuelling - he was a hero strimming like hell all the pegs

Bruvva Jamie also trimming out as far as possible

With Kommune also keeping down the bank side vegetation plus Russ creating perfect pegs this match length is looking really good for the competition . However with 4 weeks before it commences you can expect the grass to start growing .

I don't know how he did it - Bad back for last 10 years an he manages to strum the whole bank - well done mate you are a diamond .

With a few weeks before the matches we hope to take out weed on all pegs in the coming weeks with a rake so to create plenty of room for keep nets .
After Lunch at the local eating hostelry we attacked Section A to get that looking the business . Jamie managed the whole match length and wanted were possible to have a set distance between pegs so nobody was too close to each other - great job bruvva .

B SECTION - substantial gap of about 30 metres due to some large trees that we cannot maintain - it needs the Kommune to control these

I must say that Jamie and Russ did a sterling job in hacking and strimming the bank side vegetation and tree branches . Mikael and myself cleared the branches away and helped where we could .

METMASK MATCH ORGANISATION:
Jamies organisation of the match length lends itself to continued management year on year so the pegs become permanent fixtures and with a possibility of an Autumn weekend match then the match calendar by METMASK again shows our interest in providing the very best in OPEN matches .

Dont forget to get your bait ordered as METMASK will be delivering on the Saturday ........... and get Jamie 'SWISHED' in good time .
