2015 - SENSAS CANAL MASTERS ROUND 6 - March 1st

Last qualifier and last chance saloon for some to get into the final. The Carillion Sports club yet again provided a great breakfast and great venue for the angling army that descended to Loughborough for this finale to the finale.

Draw time , its so important to get a form peg like most times in fishing yet the canal series has a habit of pegs producing form yet before had not produced.

Here we go ……….

Swingbridge 30 (end peg ) , advantage ? too much pressure so i just concentrated on getting there . Opposite were 2 boats (promising ) but my main line of attack would be 9.5m on the bloodworm / joker . To my right i decided to fish two areas in front of the right hand boat with choppy/joker/bworm in the pot mix for the Billy's

The day progressed badly into the last 2 hours as the wind consistently proved horrible for presentation. In the end i posted 950gr of some 35 fish (pairs of eyes) like Bleak , Ruffe , Gudgeon , skimmer, roach ,Perch . To my left had a 1300gr and a DNWI . After that the weights were well supported with 2-3.7 kilos weights complimented with Big Perch.

On the whistle there was a huge gust that destroyed my umbrella which caused a top 3 breakage …..Thats fishing !!

Nice weight with good bonus

Cameron showed his class with a great catch of three big Perch which took the section prize .

Another good weight over 2 kilos and a bonus

Everyone thawed out with a beer and a snack .

Main man of the day was good friend Bryan Hawkes of SENSAS-North who i had not seen for some 10 years when he was TRIANA-NORTH (when i was developing the brand here in the UK) .

Massive congratulations to Brian Hull (Birthday - boy) and Joff for the usual ''Job well done !''

Next weekend its the Big one ……see you all there , i'm on the bank and draw with the cameras as myself and my youngest daughter film the whole event.

Look out for MAS TV starting from Wednesday as you get to see the team meetings / practice days and the team in action over the weekend.
