2011 - SODERHAMN - BEST MATCH OF THE YEAR

Soderhamn , 'Folkes' match as we say is one of the best fixtures of the swedish season . Folke has been organising this match for at least the last 3 years that i have been attending and possibly longer.
    This year there is a full-house with 44 anglers which equated to 4 sections paying top 4 in each section . The event also had a prize draw on the last day for 8 prizes kindly donated by http://www.metebutiken.se/

    The record for the competition is 62.5 kilos in one day !! held by that great Stockholm angler Mattias 'The Judge' Larsson. Last year top-rod Thomas Soderland took the title for the second time with 72 kilos for the 2 days through the ice !!
   
    With the weather being milder , would the quantity of fish be there to break all records ? .....lets see ?

Picked up my bait from Metemask , rather alot but its needed plus having plenty for Nykoping next week plus a few casters for Jonkoping

Tommy sales manager of Metemask almost sold a full table of bait , some 104 litres in the end. What a great combination for this event with Metebutiken sponsoring the event with Metmask supplying the bait.

Todays mix was a combination of Mondial Gros Gordons and Mondial crushed grilled hemp hemp with VDE Super cup -

in with that went 1 litre dead maggot ,0.5 litre of casters with 2 tins of corn (opened the tins first ) - completed half the mix with Trapper leam as i wanted the bait on the bottom quickly.

Went for a walk down to the match length and the surface was alive with fish and the '3 musketeers' were there also surveying the water.

Its Porthosson ,Athosson and Aramisson.

Fish were everywhere on the surface - but will it fish ?

Standing at peg19 looking downstream and still fish were 'topping' the whole of the surface.

Looking up stream the water was quieter with less wind.

Here in Sweden you draw a peg based on when you booked into the match so in my case i was 7th to draw then on the sunday i was 38th to draw a peg as the whole list is reversed , fair !

The Pike ,Zander ,Sea Trout do not count but everything else does

I drew peg 20 and i know from the last few years that these 3-5 pegs are not the best for some reason. I had top rod Kenneth Johansson to my right so its going to be tuff !

GIRLFRIENDS CAR SECOND TIME IN 9 DAYS .....CAR IS BOOKED IN NEXT WEEK FOR AN ALARM SYSTEM !!

2011 - Tieing some rigs and bottom lines ready for the matchman at Jonkoping

I have matches at Soderhamn and Nykoping to come but my gear is ready for those matches. Thought i would concentrate to get ready the more refined rigs for the 'Matchman'

SENSAS - PRESTON - COLMIC - DINO - DAIWA elastic i have used this year from Splash ,ITackle,Metebutiken,Dino and Nathans of Derby.

I will load 3 top-ends with Sensas 2-6 size elastics for Jonkoping , especially A and B section.

TRIANA - SENSAS - DINO - developed 6 rigs tonight ready , 2gr - 0.75gr

Added several more bottom lines of 0,06,0,08 to red Kamasan's from Rogers emporium.

Nice rig line purchased from Itackle this year has proved a winner for me.

Tonights materials were Sensas - VMC and Kamasan' tied to Minimex Colmic bottom lines.

Fave groundbait of the year is the Metebutikens Gamma feeder mix

2011 - B@stards break into our communal garage

Sodertalje just gets worse, besides the 4 Mafia's in the town we have plenty of people just doing what they want and there is not a policeman in sight! ...last Tuesday 6 cars had their windows smashed with contents stolen , 3 nights later 100 metres away another car park block had 7 cars broken into.

Nice 'calling-card' !

This is a pensioners car and he has had his car window broken 5 times in 2 years. Landlord of the estate could offer no sympathies and the police never turned up!

Then Johan started to take a few on the feeder at 50 metres

Percy caught to my right also long on the feeder taking roach and skimmer which left me fishless till the last 90 minutes when the moved in nd i took 8 bream.
