Norsholm is the venue for the VM on August 20/21 so an opportunity became available to run a practice there (not sure we were sitting on the VM pegging ?) Christer and Lisse organisers of this event.
Who is this ?
First time i have visited this section of the canal at Norsholm and i was impressed with parking arrangements , but how will the match fish ?
Menu for the day - no live maggots /pinkies so i went with worms , dead maggots , corn and GB/LEAM
Peg 1
Not the best result for me after the conclusion of the 4 hour match . I was fishing similar to all the other guys but could not get into consistent catching !?
I started with 4 rigs from 3-5gr (heavier rigs suggested to get thro' the Bleak) however i changed during the match to just three rigs of 2gr-2gr-3gr but in the end it made no difference . After 2 hours i could see i am well behind so i concentrated on chop worm/leam to hopefully get some larger samples .
Unfortunately all i encouraged was Crayfish (4 on worm and 1 on corn). My catching was spasmodic and when i did it was ultra see-though skimmers and the odd better specimen see-thro skimmer . Many times the crayfish were snipping off my worm even when i fished 10-15cm of the bottom !!
Not anything i could do however i should have set up a slider but i can see from the guys that that method did not really produce much . I did not weigh in and i think i had just less than a kilo . My highlight to the day was catching 4 roach in quick succession on small corn up in the water spraying hemp . I just put this match result down to bad preparation , oh well there is always a next time .
Time for a Crayfish party !!
Weigh in time and on peg 2 was Anders with 1.77k
Christer on peg 3 with 5.730 (Interesting to note that he had fish of the day , a decent bream in the last 10 minutes - so there are some decent units in there .
Anssi on peg 4 with 5.350
Lars 'Lisse' Lind , the Triple L , on peg 5 with 6.710
The days winner , the Talismanic Gyula with 7470
