2021 KARLSTAD Part 1 July 10th - preparation time

With a week away from my trip to Karlstad in central Sweden to renew my acquaintance with the place i last visited in 2006 , i must admit i am getting excited .  My first realisation of this venue was when the Talismanic John Wilson fished the same town back in 87/88 as part of a three part series of fishing in Sweden . In fact back in 2006 i remember parking my car and there was a sign reference to fishing stating Johns name so i truly found the spot where he was filmed .

Sadly John died in 2009 at his new home in Thailand . He was a legend as he brought a true face of angling and whether or not you were not interested in his many forms of angling it was still great to watch each adventure ............ his series was watched avidly .

John also outspoken and a friend of angling had warned the EA that the introduction of Otters would start to be the death knell of certain rivers and lakes , he was not wrong .

Thanks John as your words are true to this day
