2024 - April 27th, 28th - Arboga

Arboga in the Spring , Summer time errrrrr , still Winter time !!!

Unbelievable weather as i travelled from Sodertalje when half way there the snow started and by the time i arrived there was a good 5-10cm of snow everywhere - A total White-out !

As the anglers started to gather then Russ was dishing out the bait and products as usual . The draw had been conducted the night before by match organiser Mats Larsson to save time so everyone knew where to go once Mats had perambulated the river bank and placed the numbered sticks.

Is this picture from a mid winter scene , no ! , its April 27th !!!

Arrived in Arboga to take a deep breath and take a warm drink in the local garage

DAY2

Saturday night was thaw out night and taking the shivers out of your body with alcohol and a Chineze take away . How will Sunday go ?

Peg 3 for me

Ready for the off after placing 8 balls on my pole feeder line and 5 casts on the feeder line .

Kitchen at the ready

Jesper to my left (he was on my right the day before)

Andrezj to my right

The weather deteriorated from the start of the match as cold rain started to fall making it very uncomfortable .
First 10 minutes and i hooked a good Bream only to come off seconds later with what looked like a foul hooking due to slime up the line . I took a few roach more on the feeder but after an hour i switched to pole feeder but gave that up after 30 minutes with no fish , Somehow i managed to lose two more good Bream on a similar area snag which was frustrating but managed to get one out plus a few skimmers .

The weigh in second day

Sir Tom with 15900 on peg 1

Jesper on peg 2 blitzed me and his feeder fishing was of the highest order and i learned a lot from watching him (and Tom) - peg 2 9620
