2017 - GAC match on the Leics Amal - Cobbles section

GREENHILL AC match on the LEICS AMAL length at Barrow Bridge on the 'Cobbles'

John Kilby 2nd with 6-12

Myself with the glory and 7-12

2017 - Sutton Bonnington on the Loughborough AC

Four of the Midlands Angling Supplies anglers decided to meet up on the Soar at Sutton Bo nnington . Mark Russell , Mark Millington fished the right of Soar Lane and Mick Carr and myself to the left of the lane. We all tried different tactics . Mark dodge + pinkie and more up in water fishing from peg 62 and Mark M fished GB using maggot and worm over. Mick Carr fished primarily at 11m with bait dropped hemp and maggot / caster and fished full depth over and also fished 2+ 2 closer. I fished Bait dropper hemp and dead pinkie and caster mostly on the hook wit ha few on hemp and small tare with a 2+3 down the bank for the Perch.
We all subsequently caught well with Mick and i in the 9 lb bracket.

I personally will recommend at the next SVWL meeting to book the Match length .

I see the local scum treat the countryside with total disrespect

The Soar Lane has been resurfaced

Huge transformation from peg 61 to 84 with all the trees and bushes being cut down - now excellent for all anglers with no fears of getting their tackle snagged.

The local scum never cease to amaze me even if it stated its a £75-00 fine for doing so !!

I decided to fish on peg 54 and unfortunately i shared it with a dying chub with some bad wounds that i can only think our furry friends make . The Chub carried on breathing for some 5 hours.

Menu for todays fish

Mick on 55

Mick ended the day with almost 9lb of mostly Perch

I had similar in all Roach on the caster / hemp / tare

Marks son with a good 7lb catch

                                           My net of red fins

Sutton has definitely benefitted from a long rest and looks to be going its form from several years ago. All the Roach have 'grown-up' and even though i got hit 4 times by Pike i was fortunate to get the roach back every time - which must be a record !

2017 - Burton Team of 4's

Teams of 4 on the Coors AC at Burton sponsored by Middy and Fishmania Steve Newton and helped by John Harper.

MAS place  team of Martin Jaques , Mick Carr , Mark Footitt and my self .Other MAS lads fished with a few other teams.

The match was affected by an extra foot of water which was fining off all the time . Our team did very well with Martin and Mick winning their sections and myself and Mark going a 4th and a 5th respectively. We actually won the whole match but were dismayed to find out that they decided to have Zone sections so we ended up 4th on the day .

Fishmani team finished 3rd on the day

2017 - Trent open on the Viaduct with the Notts Feds

Great match on the Trent at Radcliffe with the Notts Feds boys , Started in the morning with a great breakfast and loads of comedy with Neil Lawrence.

Great win on the day with 23-1 and mick Carr won his section to boot.

Well done Ian Saiger with a 3rd in match
