2011 - 15th July - A trip to the famous Gwinear fishery- part 3

Gwinear has gone through many changes from about 2005 time when it suffered a major disease and eventually the pool was drained as all the stock was dead. Its changed ownership and the one pool became 3 pools with brand new stock and its now maturing to its former glory under the guidance of Chris Heacock.

The rules and a few floats that are made to last (Hand made locally)

Some J-Range elastics ,floats and attachments plus Cralusso line.

Better view of these tough looking floats

Layout of the pools ( bad picture ,sorry)

First to weigh on peg 40 - ish was former England Youth international : Alex Clements , working at Whiteacres tackle shop as a consultant.

One of many weigh-ins for Alex and the winning weight of 187-14 !! ....all on the method feeder at 14metres!!

More to the net - several weigh-ins required

Prime Carp in great condition

Harry earlier in the day saved the life of the angler to his right when during the set-up period the man in question a Mr.Mazza had an epoleptic fit and plunged into the water , he went down once but without the intervention of Harry he may have been lost - Well done Harry - official life guard of Gwinear !

Harry also caught well on method feeder at half way across and in the margins later - think the result is close , and it was as Mr.Billing lost out by 9oz to Alex with 187-5

Good size carp in HB's net

Happy author

A nervous Alex new it would be close.

I took 86-5 for 5th which i suppose was'nt too bad but i was rather rusty at the carp scene.
