OK ! this is it , the start of the GOTLAND-MATRIX-MATCH-CARP-MASTERS. It has finally arrived after all the organising over the last several months by organiser Jörgen Axenmo, the chief of the Djupvik Hotel with Russ Hopkins and myself. Jorgen had a dream to have such an event on the beautiful island of his GOTLAND and we at Metmask shared this.
Jorgen has been very generous in allowing many if not all the competitors to stop at his beautiful Hotel .
This weeks festival will see some huge weights and this will start the huge interest into this competition by many anglers across Europe . The arena they fish has room for 150 anglers and there are many more lakes supporting just as many again , Gotland is a gold mine ! The island is covered in Wild common carp up to 5 kilos , and we expect larger . (Grass Carp to 8-10 kilos)
Recent practice saw 88.5 kilos in 5 hours !!
