The start
Match started with the pre-bait enabling all anglers to get the fish ready for delivery of hook baits . After a slowish start a few fish started to arrive and noticeably Fredrik Samuelsson was first to take a string of fish , promising start then but where are they for me ? After about 7 minutes i had my first roach be it very small and further fish arrived so i was enjoying a promising start . The first two hours were not the best compared to others however i enjoyed a good third hour and caught consistently but then it fell away and Thomas to my left caught me up well and his last hour was very good , that reflected in our weights .
I did now know if to feed pure joker small balls with the odd leam mix of joker or the occasional small ball of dead maggots/casters/pinkies/corn ...........so it was trial or error to know what kept the fish feeding .
Fours later it was over and i knew i had blown it with irregular feeding and i should have stuck to 5-6m whip instead of fishing the pole too many times at 11m .
Match over i managed to put some kit away and catch up with the weighing in process again admirably done by Kent Adell and Christer Engvall with Tommy Lindblom also lending a hand .

BLACK GROUND BAIT MATTERS 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What a quiet start , for me ! After placing 10 large balls of Back leam / GB i then topped up with three balls of joker laced leam and three balls of chopped worm leam balls .........all at 10m pole line . Then placed 2 hard lighter GB mix at 5-6 m .
First 20 minutes , two small skimmers (first i had seen ) , two see-through Perch and a tiny Roach . After 35-45 minutes i started to pick up a few Roach on the 5-6m whip line but i was already behind due to slow start . I then started to compete with Anders Tersby next to me but he was catching well on his shorter line. Come to the last hour and i started to throw corn in on my 7m whip /pole line and i noticed my float was not settling properly then i struck and a large roach was hauled in , followed by another . Then i realised they were well off the bottom so i shortened the full depth to more than a metre of the bottom ! . I even moved the olivetti up so the corn on the hook would drop slowly . So for the next 45 minutes i was just throwing 5-8 grains of corn at 7m every fish and i had a fantastic string of non-stop Roach and must have put 5 kilos in the net in the last hour - it was incredible , every time the rig dropped in i was hauling a dog-roach . But it was too late and i could or maybe should have used corn more throughout the match . But you live and learn but it was well exciting catching one dog after another .
