2015 - Soar Champs October 11th

Peg 51 for my sins and it proved to be the usual tough river Soar that has had no good rains all year.

For my efforts i secured 72 fish of which 65 were Bleak for 2 - 5 and a section prize , only second on the Soar for the year !

The man the myth , the Legend , The Chef !  John harper just edged out by the JO !

Joe Oakes took the other section with 3 13

The pub was great with all the anglers casting away their woes with river soar awful form at the moment.

Brian Hull did his usual fine job !

Adey took a individual

As did Top MAS rod ; Clive 'the snake charmer' Lloyd

Top rod of the day was MANAGER OF BENNETS TACKLE , Stu Timpson

and his Bennetts team took the first place also.

(From Brian Hull the main man of Loughborough SAS) :

Here is the result of todays Soar Championship.
Lougborough Soar A.S. Soar Championship
Sunday 11th October River Soar Sutton Bonington

The river was very low and clear and a bright sunny day made for extremely difficult fishing conditions.
1) Peg 1 Stu Timson Sensas Bennetts 10lbs 13oz.
Stu , a local tackle dealer, drew fancied peg one which has a bit of flow in this year and he made the most of his good fortune with a decisive win. He caught hand sized skimmers on the long pole fishing maggots over groundbait and backed it up with a bonus tench and perch both weighing around 3 pounds on chopped fished short.
2) Peg 40 Pete Mulvey Maver Loughborough 8lbs 11oz.
Pete made a decision to fish the whole match for bonus fish and alternated between feeder and short pole fishing worm. He had an all perch catch with his best two fish being about 3 lbs.
3) Peg 26 Mark Russell Drennan Leicester 6lbs 1 oz
mark fished maggot and caster on the long pole for a net of small roach and perch boosted by a tench of around 3lbs.
