Met with fellow MAU man , Mats down at the Sodertalje kanal opposite the Astra Zenica. We were both looking for some good catches of roach and bream and both of us wanted to fish Bolo and slider plus whip and pole.
Mats was into the Mondial mix of Kanal Gardon and grilled hemp
This year all MAU members are taking pictures of our Groundbait mixes for future record.
I was setting up my slider rig on the trusty 14' Carbon active rod using a Dino 8+2gram slider.
My bait for the day : Left over maggots from Norrkoping with hemp from Mats plus pellets 2 and 4 mm (SONU). Had worms also ready for the bream to show.
I had 2 mixes today ; 1st was the sider mix which consisted of MONDIAL SUPERMIX GROS GARDONS - 2KILO with a bag of MONDIAL KANAL BLACK - 1KILO plus TRAPPER BLACK RIVER LEAM - I KILO.
2nd mix was GEERS GAMMA FEEDER MIX - 0.5 KILO with MONDIAL KANAL BLACK - 1 KILO with half a bag of TRAPPER PIDGEON SHIT for the whip and pole line.
Mats stopped for 4 hours and had 3.65 kilos after a very slow start in both our pegs. Mats had quite a few good roach on the Bolo but scored better on the 6m whip later. ( See Mats Blogg for full report).
I stayed 2 hours longer and eventually caught alot better at only 5m at about 2 metres deep using a MILO TEXIER 2gram to a 0.13 bottom and a TUBERTINI 1T Series size 15.
Had over a 100 roach and estimate a weight of 7 kilos plus. The fishing just got better and better later as the wind ceased and presentation got better.
My slider rig for the earlier part of the day and i only took 6 fish in the first hour on the slider.
