2011 - Trosa match with a great bunch of anglers

Trosa on a beautiful day ! I normally dont include all photographs taken but this time i make the exception as the day was so sunny and warm. The MAU had a warm invitation from the Trosa fishing club to fish with them on the pir which we gracefully accepted.

This view i could see surface activity everywhere ! , there was that much bleak !

Rules of this match was not to have more than 4 set-ups

My mix for the day was Mondial Kanal black with a bag of Geers Black Gama feeder mixed with a tin of corn , 0.25 l dead maggot and 0.25 l hemp plus chopped worm.

Matbord ready

I drew the end peg furthest out to the sea , how well will it fish ?

Beautiful !

During the course of the match the Trosa Ness Monster appeared in the water.

Weigh in time and after my 4.5 kilos  ,Percy had 4.6 kilos

Peg 3 Johan had 5 kilos

Hasse Peg 4 with a great catch for 10kilos and equal 1st place

7.5 kilos

The Tik had done well on take apart pole.

Its close !

Equal first with 10 kilos

Tim with 7,8 kilos and 3rd place

2 proper fish in the catch

From Mats camera - after a great 1st hour it just died off but i still enjoyed the day.

2 good skimmers and one lost big bream in the last 15 minutes.

HUGE THANKYOU TO PERCY AND THE TROSA BOYS FOR INVITING US TO THEIR 'PATCH' .WE REALLY ENJOYED OUR DAY OUT AND WILL DEFINATELY FISH WITH THEM AGAIN SOON.

2011 - DM2 Halstar - ' hammar' time ?

DM2 .......How will it fish ? Previous practice had realised some great weights for some and not for others , this is truly a peggy water .

The venue itself is picture book  with a superb hotel on the waters front and the lake looking so idylic no wonder anglers are attracted to this picture-postcard venue ......also because there are alot of carp in it.

In the mix , Band of MAU brothers conferring over each other mix of the day. None of us had a clear idea what we were going to mix , i had a dark and brown mix for feeder and waggler . Tim went with a red-ish mix , Mats went with a yellow and brown mix and Johan ?......cant remember , but i think it was a brown mix.

Venue is excellent , 10 metre walk with kit from car to the bank.

Tim mixing it red-ish

Hotel car park was superb placement for easy transition of equipment.

Peg 8 , mine .....clear skies , smooth water , recipe for 'not a good days fishing' for skimmers !

The draw was efficient and fast with pegs 1-9 for elite klass and 2 pegs for the not so elite.

The head honcho , the big cheese , the organiser of these events , the talismanic Bob Nudds brother : Johan

Its the start of the event on a glorious sunny day , not a skimmer day   :-(

Weigh-in time

Tim on end peg or should i call it 'end-snag'

Rolf next

4 hours for 3 fish ....this was typical !!

Kenneth faired better and took an all roach catch on the pole for the winning weight.

He (Kenneth) won but did'nt think much to the day's proceedings   :-)

Bodd-miester with 3 skimmers

Roger had a few more but it was tough going.

Tom shown his class to 'grind' out a few fish

Johan frustrated with the day fishing and feeling rather hungry almost took a roach snack instead of a korv as promised after the match.

Lena shown the boys how to fish with a great net of small roach

Peg snag 1 seen Tim break off his waggler line leaving a prize Cralusso waggler float in the water. As much as he tried he was unable to retrieve it, so , only one thing left to do ......

In lane 1 representing England is Tim Heighes ready to Cralusso doggy paddle the 25 metres event.

Padooooooooooooooooosh!

target negotiated , now for return

Loads of line wrapped around his foot

All worth it ....float returns to rightful owner    :-)

Brrrrr ! ....water was cool

Disappointing day overall for all competitors but the venue was superb and the weather just as good.Maybe next year and earlier match could be planned.

Well  done to Mats and Johan for bait and organisation. Also huge thanks to Russ at METMASK.COM for supplying excellent bait for the day - much appreciated.
